"People must be included in decisions taken regarding national unity"

A group of Kurdish intellectuals and writers expressed their support for the Kurdish talks, and stressed the need to involve the people in the decisions taken regarding the national unity.

Today, the Preparatory committee for the general meeting of Intellectuals in Rojava organized a meeting in Al-Qeraa (The Reading) Park in Qamishlo in support of the Kurdish unity, and it was attended by a group of intellectuals, poets and writers.

The meeting focused on the importance of the Kurdish unity, emphasizing the support of intellectuals for the discussions taking place among the Kurdish forces in Rojava, and praising the steps taken by the delegations of the Kurdish National Unity Parties and the Kurdish National Council, which announced on June 16^th the conclusion of the first stage of negotiations and access to a binding joint political vision and initial understandings.

The participants in the meeting wished the delegations of the Kurdish National Unity Parties and the Kurdish National Council to achieve greater steps in the coming days and work to involve the people in the decisions taken regarding unity.

The Head of the Democratic Islamic Society Conference, Mohammed Al-Gharizi, indicated in his intervention during the meeting that: "For the sake of the Kurdish community's interest and building a better future for it, the Kurdish parties must put the previous differences aside."

Mohammad Al-Gharizi pointed to the attempts of some tendentious and backed forces that are hostile to the aspirations of the Kurdish people and the peoples of the region in distorting the discussions taking place among the Kurdish forces, and he said: "No importance should be given to the hate speeches issued by some parties that try in various ways to prevent achieving the unity of the Kurdish ranks, and these speeches cannot undermine our determination."

After the Kurdish forces made steps in the conduct of the Kurdish-Kurdish talks, a statement was issued by some people claiming to be educated and most of whom are abroad, in which they tried to demonize the Kurdish people.

The Co-chair of the Kurdistan Democratic Change Party Mezgin Zaidan stressed the need for intellectuals and writers to play an important role at this stage, support the discussions taking place among the Kurdish forces, and stand in the face of all those who are hostile to the aspirations of the Kurdish people.
