Joint operations condemn Turkish aircrafts penetration of Iraqi airspace - UPDATED

The joint operations command said in a statement published by al-Sumaria agency: "We deplore the Turkish warplanes penetration of Iraqi airspace, which happened on Sunday evening, via 18 Turkish warplanes heading towards Sinjar - Mexmûr - al-Kweir - Erbil, reaching al-Sherqat province at a depth of 193 km from the Turkish border inside the Iraqi airspace," indicating that the bombing "targeted a refugee camp near Mexmûr and Sinjar."

The statement added: "The Turkish warplanes approached again the Iraqi borders until late last night, and this provocative behavior is not consistent with the obligations of the good neighborliness and is considered a flagrant violation of Iraqi sovereignty according to the international agreements."

The statement stressed: "These violations must be stopped with respect and commitment to the common interests between the two countries," calling for "their non-repetition", stressing that "Iraq is fully prepared to cooperate between the two countries and to control the security conditions on the common borders."

The Şengal province, Mexmûr refugee camp in Başûr "South Kurdistan" and the legitimate defense zones were exposed at dawn today to an attack by the warplanes of the Turkish occupation.
