The site said that the Greek frigate is participating in a European Union maritime mission off the coast of Africa, noting that it is currently "tracking down a Turkish ship suspected of carrying weapons to Libya."

The site, quoting sources in the Greek Ministry of Defense, said that the Turkish ship was accompanied by two Turkish frigates.

A "signal" was sent to the Turkish ship, but without reply.

After that, a Greek Navy helicopter flew over the Turkish ship to request permission to inspect the cargo, before the request was rejected.

In doing so, Turkey continues to violate the Security Council resolution banning arms supplies to Libya.
