Qamishlo residents condemn Turkish occupation’s crimes

At the invitation of the Kongra Star, dozens of residents of Qamishlo city gathered at the eastern square of the city to participate in a protest against the crimes of the Turkish occupation in the regions of northern and eastern Syria and northern Kurdistan.

After holding a minute of silence, the Administrator in Kongra Star Malija Heydar read a statement in this regard, and it included: “The occupation attacks on our regions and the sovereignty of our land amid international silence and indifference to what is happening against the people; killing and assaulting women, looting the country’s goods, displacing thousands of civilians and following the policy of Turkification and demographic change.”

The statement added: “The international silence towards the Turkish state’s crimes against women is an unforgivable crime. It is a shame for the countries that claim to protect human rights to remain silent about these violations and practices.”

The statement called on “all the women of the world and women organizations to intervene to put an end to the crimes of the Turkish occupation, and to stand together against these repressive and brutal practices.”

The protest ended with chanting slogans condemning the crimes of the Turkish occupation and saluting the martyrs and the resistance.
