Mass demonstration in Afrin denounces crimes of Turkey and its mercenaries

Thousands of Afrin people expressed their denunciation for the crimes of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries against Afrin people and women in particular, by going out in a mass demonstration in Al-Shahba district.

Thousands of people went out today in a massive demonstration expressing their condemnation of the mercenary crimes and attacks against Afrin women.

People from all villages and districts of Al-Shahba and Sherawa flocked to the front of the Afrin Hospital in Fafin, raising pictures of the victimized women by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, the martyrs and the placards that appealed to the international community and human rights organizations, which read "No to demographic change," Where is your justice? Do you hear Afrin women's cries? "

The participants chanted slogans saluting the resistance of Afrin, denouncing the crimes of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, during which they raised olive branches.

The demonstration headed to the Berkhwadan camp in the outskirts of Fafin district to stop there, and stopped a minute of silence, after which the co-chair of the Executive Council in Afrin Shiraz Hamo delivered a speech in which she said: "We condemn the crimes that women are subjected to at the hands of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, and confirm that these crimes will not undermine the will of the woman who, during the Rojava Revolution, demonstrated their leadership and ability to organize and protect society. "

"Turkey's efforts to interfere in the Syrian conflict are nothing but an attempt to increase the area occupied by it," she added. "It complicates the Syrian crisis and does not want a solution, but rather to use mercenaries as a means to reach its ambitions."

Shiraz ended her speech saying: "These endeavors will not fulfill their goals. We are here resisting, Afrin people resist, resistance will triumph, because we are the owners of this land."

For its part, the administrator in Kongra Star of Afrin canton, Newroz Hashem, the international silence regarding the crimes of Turkey and its mercenaries in Afrin, and said: "What we see from the international silence regarding the violations that Afrin women are subjected to is only a green light for mercenaries to commit their crimes without hesitation or fear of being held accountable . "

She indicated that the occupiers aim at displacing the people of Afrin and said: "These crimes fall within the context of the policy of demographic change. The occupiers seek to displace the indigenous people and change the identity of the region."

The demonstration ended by chanting slogans denouncing the crimes of the occupation, and calling for its exit from Afrin and holding the criminals accountable.
