SDF arrested 8 mercenaries, including a former al-Qaeda element

The SDF continues to advance and elimination ISIS mercenary cells, as part of Deterring Terrorism campaign, which it launched based on calls from the notables' clans of al-Hasakah and Deir-ez-Zor to liberate them from the elements of ISIS cells that have increased their activity in the recent period.

Combing the area in the northeastern countryside of Deir-ez-Zor near the Iraqi-Syrian border, commandos captured eight members of ISIS mercenary cells, including a former member of the al-Qaeda terrorist organization whose name was classified in the international terrorist list.

According to ANHA correspondent, according to the leaders of the campaign, two Lebanese mercenaries, were arrested in al-Rawda area near the border.

Commandos also seized weapons and ammunition, including "Kalashnikovs number 4, pistol number 2, remote control devices, number 5, and a quantity of ammunition and stores."

It is noteworthy that SDF had arrested 20 suspected ISIS' elements at dawn today, in the countryside of al-Suwar district of Deir-ez-Zor Governorate.
