Fighter in Deterring Terrorism campaign: We came to liberate our people form ISIS cells

On June 4, the SDF launched a military campaign against ISIS mercenary cells, after calls launched by clans' notables to protect them from ISIS attacks that have been intensified.

According to the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces, its campaign "Deterring Terrorism" will include the countryside of al-Hasakah and Deir-ez-Zor along the Khabour River and the Syrian-Iraqi border.

While the campaign achieved tangible results, according to ANHA accompanying reporters, and made great progress in the arrest of several elements of mercenary cells.

In this regard, SDF commander, Abd al-Salam al-Jabr, said, "We have responded to the call of our people in Deir-ez-Zor, after ISIS cells began to ignite tribal strife in the region, and we are still continuing the campaign."

"Because of the world's preoccupation with coronavirus pandemic, ISIS cells have activated, assassinations have increased, and we have come to liberate people from ISIS cells," said the fighter, Hafen Deir-ez-Zor, who participated in the campaign to deter terrorism.

Since the first day of the campaign, the SDF has been able to sweep an area 70 km long and 60 km wide, and has arrested 30 mercenaries, according to a statement by the SDF.
