​​​​​​​ISIS in SDF’s detention centers demand to be tried in their home countries

The detainees of ISIS mercenaries continue to foment riots and chaos in an attempt to escape since the complete elimination of ISIS strongholds in the town of Al-Baghouz in the eastern countryside of the Syrian city of Deir ez-Zor on the 23 March of last year.

Most of the 16 detention centers of the SDF that house more than 19,000 detainees from ISIS mercenaries have recently witnessed an increase in chaos and riots by the mercenaries in Al-Sina'ah , Al-Hol and Al-Tabqa detention centers.

On May 17th, 7 detainees from ISIS mercenaries escaped from Al-Hol prison, 45 km east of the city of Al-Hasakeh to be arrested the next morning, as chaos spread in  Al-Tabqa prison last Thursday in an attempt to escape after breaking the security cameras and removing the steel doors between the rooms.

Regarding the latest riots of ISIS, Hawar agency was allowed to speak to two ISIS mercenaries in separate detention places in the northeast of Syria.

Mercenaries want to know their fate

Yasser Mohamed Abdel Azim, an ISIS mercenary of Egyptian origin and holds Dutch citizenship said: "We will not stop until we know our fate, and our trial is speeded up."

Abdel Azim was born in 1978 in Alexandria, Egypt, immigrated to the Netherlands 20 years ago, holds Dutch citizenship. Against the background of joining ISIS mercenaries since 2015, he worked as a supervisor on the engineering construction for mercenaries after being wounded in Al-Raqqa battles early 2017.

He was arrested on 20 March 2019 in the town of Al-Baghouz in the eastern countryside of the city of Deir ez-Zor, the last stronghold of ISIS mercenaries in northeast of Syria.

"If our solution is through the courts, then I am ready to appear before the court because it is better than the situation we are in now, even if it was an unfair verdict. We always talk in prison about our fate." Abdel Azim added.

He called for a speedy determination of their fate. He said, "There must be a solution. We must expedite the trials and reach a decision before we create a stronger riots here and abroad," in reference to threatening the West through ISIS cells abroad.

In a separate meeting with another detainee of ISIS mercenaries in the SDF's detention centers, the Indian, Adel Iyab agreed with what the Dutch mercenary of Egyptian origin spoke about; the motives for  creating chaos at the camps to know about their fate.

Mercenary Adel Ayab, born in the Indian city of Kashmir, 1987, studied business administration at the University of Kashmir, and worked in the management of the auto parts warehouse in his country. He came to Syria late 2014 after declaring the so-called caliphate state. He got to know ISIS through social media and ISIS propaganda. He assigned to various combat missions, most notably the Amir of Kweires Airport Battle in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo against the Syrian government forces.

The mercenary Ayab was arrested by the SDF in Al-Baghouz town, the last stronghold in Al-Baghouz on March 12 last year.

Mercenaries want to return to their countries

The Indian mercenary says about the chaos and riots they are doing in prison, and attempts to escape, "These riots will continue if we do not  find solution from any party."

In meetings with the international coalition, the SDF and the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) have not reached a fundamental solution to the ISIS file yet, nor have they listened to their pleas, suggestions and demands for the establishment of international tribunals.

The efforts of the international coalition in supporting the SDF in this file remain concentrated only on training elements of the forces to guard the camps to control the chaos and riots without reaching a decision that might reduce the burden on the SDF.
