N, E Syria border crossings take measures to prevent Coronavirus

After the risks of the spread of the Coronavirus in the Middle East, the Interior and Health authorities have started taking preventive measures to detect possible cases of coronavirus.

In this context, the director of the Relationship Department at Semalka Baz Ahmed crossing said in a statement to our agency: A committee from the Health Authority visited the crossing today, and provided special equipment and supplies in the framework of efforts to prevent those with HIV infection entering northern and eastern Syria.

The administration of the crossing began, starting today, to take the necessary preventive measures, as citizens coming from the region Başûr Kurdistan are subjected to checking body temperature via thermometer as a measure and a preliminary statement, and added: "These measures are now taken in all crossings in northern and eastern Syria."

In the Euphrates region, the Health Authority launched an awareness campaign by publishing leaflets explaining ways to prevent corona virus, in addition to explaining and identifying symptoms of infection.

The post also explained the symptoms of infection with the virus, which he said "begin with the upper respiratory tract, such as influenza, which are: heat, cough, sore throat, headache, vomiting, and diarrhea."

Moreover, none of the hospitals and health centers operating in the autonomous regions in northern and eastern Syria have announced any cases of coronavirus infection.

Iraq announced, on Tuesday, the discovery of 4 new infections with the Corunavirus, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the country to 5 cases.

While Iran has turned into the largest hotspot for the Coronavirus in the Middle East, and the second most registered country with a number of HIV deaths after China, after it recorded 12 deaths and 61 cases of the virus.

In addition, many Gulf countries recorded HIV infections, the majority of them being Iranian or citizens who were in Iran, where 8 cases were recorded in Kuwait, the same in Bahrain, two in Oman, and 13 in the UAE.
