Iran renews its readiness to mediate between Turkey, Syrian regime

On Monday, the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif renewed his country's readiness to mediate between Turkey and the Syrian regime against the backdrop of escalating tensions between the two countries' forces in Idlib province of Syria.

Zarif tweeted on his Twitter account saying: "Iran renews its willingness to facilitate dialogue between the brotherly neighbors Turkey and Syria," adding that "The escalation of tensions only serves the interests of the terrorists and their sponsors," according to his expression.

Zarif stressed the imperative of avoiding bloodshed and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In a statement, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that five of its soldiers were killed and five others were wounded in shelling by the regime on Teftenaz airport where Turkish forces are existed.
