More than two years after the Turkish state and its mercenaries occupied the Afrin canton, Afrin was one of the safest areas in Syria, but under the years of war, and since its occupation on 18 March 2018, it has become a focus for terrorist gangs and factions that have been stripped of all human and moral standards.

Afrin canton is known for its cultural diversity, and the Yazidi community has a great share in practicing its rituals and worship in the best way.

Yazidis are distributed in 22 villages, and for the first time the Yazidi community obtains all its rights under AA.

However, since the beginning of the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenary gangs on the Afrin canton, all the holy places of the Yazidis have been targeted and destroyed, as war crimes have been committed against them, from the practices of ethnic cleansing, persecution, deprivation of their religion, and forcing them to convert to Islam, in addition to building mosques in Yazidi villages, and kidnapped thousands of them.

The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries also destroyed all historical symbols that indicate the presence of the Yazidi identity in the region, such as the Zardasht statue and the Dome of Lalsh.

With international organizations turning a blind eye to the crimes of Turkey and mercenaries against the Yazidis, the people of Afrin and the Yazidis increased their adherence to the resistance.

After the occupation of Afrin by Turkey and the mercenary gangs, hundreds of thousands of the people of the canton were forced to flee to al-Shahba district.

With more insistence on the resistance, the Yazidis Union began to gather with the members of its sect and reorganize its ranks. The Yazidi House was opened in the area of "Tal Rifaat" and in the "Sardem" camp and a third center in the village of al-Hadath of al-Shahba district.

In addition to the opening of the Yazidi House in the western part of the Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood, where hundreds of people from Afrin went to the city of Aleppo after the occupation of Afrin.

In this context, members of the Yazidi community living in the city of Aleppo continue to condemn the violations against the Yazidi community, confirming that they continue to work to protect and preserve their culture and religion.

Fidan Ali, a citizen of Afrin canton, is a girl who was harassed by the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation in Afrin canton, she said: "The Turkish occupation mercenaries were constantly storming our house, sowing terror in our souls through investigation, periodic interrogation and searching our house, and our phones."

Fidan added: It was difficult for us to endure living in Afrin, where it became unsafe, and conditions were from bad to worse, and this prompted us to go out and go to the city of Aleppo.

In Aleppo, we are visiting the Yazidi house because, as a Yazidi community, we were deprived of our rights there, but we will preserve our belief wherever we are and our only demand now is to return to our homes. "

On her part, Newroz Ado spoke about the crimes of the Turkish occupation by saying: “We, the children of the Yazidi community, have been subjected to genocide throughout history and in Afrin as well. So, what happened in Şengal province

from the massacres that cannot be forgotten, and that is why we had to get out of Afrin and head to the city of Aleppo. "

"When we arrived in the city of Aleppo, we contributed to uniting and organizing ourselves in the Yazidi house, and we are fully confident that through uniting the ranks, we will return to Afrin, and we will be able to defeat terrorism, and whatever states conspire against us, you will not be able to undermine our will.

In his turn, the citizen Rasoul Musa Ghazzawi says: "The Turkish occupation destroyed our shrine, cut down sacred trees, and changed the demographics of the area.

He continued: We did not and will not give in to him, at the time that Afrin was occupied, the Yazidi House was opened in Aleppo, and this was a sufficient response to the Turkish state’s policy, because whatever it wants to annihilate us, we will increase us determine to preserve our beliefs.
