Iraq ... Demonstrators control a number of roads, bridges

Media outlets reported that the demonstrators continued, for the third consecutive day, control of Muhammad al-Qasim Highway in the center of the capital Baghdad.

While protesters in the southern province of Najaf closed the international road linking the governorates of Najaf and Karbala in central Iraq, and in Wasit Governorate, protesters with dirt bands blocked the road between Wasit and the capital, and in the far south of Iraq, protesters cut off the road between Khor al-Zubayr and Umm Qasr.

In Dhi Qar Governorate, in southern Iraq, protesters cut the international road linking Baghdad and Basra.

The escalation in Iraq comes after the deadline given by the protesters to the power parties in Iraq to implement their demands expires, and protests erupted again on the 20th of this month at the invitation of the popular movement.

 According to the Iraqi Commission for Human Rights, 10 people have been killed and more than 130 others wounded in the past two days.

The crisis of forming a new Iraqi government remains insurmountable and its place has prevailed, while widespread public dissatisfaction with the delay process prevails in choosing a personality that is consistent with the wishes of the popular movement in the demonstration arenas.
