Hesso: Intellectuals must strengthen diplomatic relations externally and internally

During a meeting organized by Aleppo Cultural Forum at Janders Hall in the eastern part of Al Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, the Co-head of the Democratic Society Movement, Gharib Hesso, addressed the stage witnessed in north and east of Syria and in the Middle East at the political and economic levels, he also stressed on the role of the intellectuals.

Tens of Aleppo intellectuals attended the meeting. After a silence moment, Gharib Hesso talked about the political developments saying, "The Syrian crisis involved most of the world countries, and the countries that control the world suffer from political and economic crises so they export their problems to the other countries and destabilize them."

Hesso noted that interests and ambitions are the key factor for their interference. Turkey is used as a mean at the hands of the world powers for creating crises in the countries although the Turkish state is suffering from political ,economic and social problems at the same time.

As for the differences and conflicts that the neighboring countries live on, Hesso said: "We go on our struggle, so we created a revolution cause we are not ambitious and have not interests, but have the right that are oppressed not only as Kurds, but as the components of Syria, so when we get our rights we solve the crisis.”

Hesso stressed that north and east of Syria became a place for solving the crisis where many countries gathered in, and the foreign delegates’ visits are continuing; in other words, northeast of Syria is one of the places that preserved its safety and security, and we didn’t lose the brotherhood of the co-living people with us, and this is the biggest victory for us."

Concerning solving the crisis of the Middle East, Hesso noted, "The democratic system will definitely be in face of the authoritarian systems, but the eventual outcome in solving the crisis in the Middle East is in following the Democratic Nation which embraces all spectra, ethnics and cultures, it is the biggest alternative for solving all the crises."

On the role of intellectuals at this stage, Hesso pointed out that it is necessary for intellectuals to follow developments on the ground by strengthening their diplomatic and cultural relations abroad and at home and with all countries, exchanging their views on resolving this crisis, and holding meetings and forums on a larger scale. He said: “That is why cultural diplomacy is required for a moral and political society."

The co-head of the Democratic Society Movement concluded by focusing on the fact that the message of the intellectuals should focus on giving importance to the brotherhood of peoples and coexistence.
