Iranian state television said that at least 35 people were killed in Kerman city on Tuesday, as a result of a stampede during the funeral of Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, who was killed in a raid by an American drone, near Baghdad International Airport, on Friday.

Qasim Soleimani's body arrived, on Tuesday, to his hometown to be buried there.

Iranian sources reported that Soleimani's burial was postponed after the stampede.

Soleimani's killing sparked new Iranian threats to US interests, along with threats from forces close to Tehran to carry out attacks in the region.
