In cooperation with residents, mine dismantled

With the help of the residents, the Internal Security Forces (ISF) in northern and eastern Syria managed to defuse a mine that was prepared and ready for detonation in Jedid Agidat town of Deir ez-Zor.

After a report received from a civilian in Jedid Agidat town to the Internal Security Forces in Deir ez-Zor city that a mine had been located on a roadside in the town, the Security Forces and mine engineering teams immediately went to the place, near al-Gas Bridge.

The Internal Security Forces completely cut off traffic to protect the safety of the citizens. After examining the material and the surrounding area, explosives experts found that it had been a mine prepared and equipped for remote detonation.

According to the Internal Security Forces, the mine weighed approximately 20 kg of high explosive TNT materials, as it was defused and removed safely without any damage mentioned.

The Internal Security Forces made clear that the mine had been moved to a designated place to complete the dismantling operations and destroy it later.

With the joint cooperation of the Security Services and the citizens, hundreds of mines have been removed and dismantled in the areas of Deir ez-Zor.
