Al-Sisi: We reject any foreign interference in Libyan affairs

Bassam Radi, the official spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, said on Thursday in a statement that al-Sisi had made contact with Conte during which the regional files, especially the situation in Libya had been disclosed.

Al-Sisi stressed in this context the constants of the Egyptian position in support of the stability and security of Libya, activating the will of the Libyan people, as well as supporting the efforts of the Libyan National Army in combating terrorism, and eliminating terrorist organizations that posed a threat not only to Libya, but to the regional security and the Mediterranean region.

The Egyptian President also stressed during his call to reject all external interference in the internal affairs of Libya.

For his part, the Italian Prime Minister affirmed his country's efforts to solve the current situation and settle the Libyan crisis, which represented a threat to the security of the entire region, aiming at returning stability to Libya, and enabling it to restore the strength and effectiveness of its institutions.

Radi said that the two sides agreed during the phone call on the need to intensify the joint efforts in this framework.

The statements of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi came after Erdogan had reiterated his country's readiness to send military forces to Libya.
