Libyan army raids GNA forces

The spokesman of the General Command of the Libyan Army Ahmed al-Mesmari, said in a statement on Saturday evening, that the sites targeted were used to store weapons and ammunition by armed groups belonging to the Government of National Accord’s forces.

About two months ago, mutual shelling between the two sides of the conflict spread to the city of Sirte, which was confined to the capital Tripoli, and GNA sites in Sirte have been subjected to several aerial attacks by the Libyan army, noting that the city is controlled by the "Protection and Security Force of Sirte" Operation "Al-Bunyan al-Marsous" of the government of al-Sarraj, which with US support succeeded in taking control of the city, the main stronghold of ISIS about three years ago.

In Tripoli, the Libyan National Army advanced on Saturday in a number of fighting axes and took control of new positions, following fierce clashes with GNA’s forces, the Libyan Army's Media Information Division said in a statement, and noted they seized a number of vehicles, weapons, ammunition and captured the families of a number of armed personnel.
