The SDF Commander-in-Chief made the remarks during his speech at the University of Rojava University Stadium in the city of Qamishlo in the north and east of Syria, in front of more than 100 students attending the Students Forum of North and East Syria, which started this morning.

"We made a lot of sacrifices to defend the region, and we made many steps to reach solutions to the Syrian crisis, and to reach a common formula with all parties, whether Turkey or the Syrian regime, in order to preserve the gains made on the ground," said Mazloum Abdi. "The steps we have taken are but the main pillar to resolve this crisis and differences."

Abdi added, "The recent developments in the region and the consensus reached between the United States, Turkey and the Syrian Democratic Forces on the issue of the Turkish border are in the context of these steps aimed at preserving the gains achieved, and in the context of the need to reach understandings to resolve the Syrian crisis and the threats facing the region." Therefore, it was necessary to support these steps aimed at solving the outstanding problems, and we are sure that it is in the interest of the Syrian people, and this agreement is being applied on the ground and is still in progress. "

Abdi noted that the future of the region must be considered. "Accordingly, we must at first defend our people, society, revolution and the great gains achieved in the face of any aggression. On the other hand, we must build our institutions, the institutions of the future Syria, on the basis of a democratic and pluralistic Syria. Students and learners have the most important part to lead this stage, and this segment should play a major role in the institutions of the future Syria, because the stage now requires this segment more than any other time, after being marginalized as a result of military operations and the deviation of the Syrian revolution directing it towards militarization."

In the context of his speech, Abdi appealed to students, learners and youth to participate in the institutions of the Autonomous Administration. "We call on them to lead these institutions and play a leading role in them."

The Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, concluded his speech on what the students should do at the current stage, saying, "The students should increase the pace of training, receive education, and organize their classes in institutions that can meet the requirements of this society, which provided more than 11 thousand martyrs and more than 24 thousand wounded, because the stage that the region is going through is a historic stage, so students should assume their responsibilities towards the community, and be aware of what it entails, and for these duties and the forum we wish to reconcile and come up with results that can meet the stage."
