With vast participation, Newroz of Kobani launched

Newroz festival activities began with burning the flame. The celebration this year holds the slogan "In the Spirit of Newroz, We Will Continue the Resistance, Break the Isolation and Liberate Afrin."

It is scheduled to deliver speeches these moments. The co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration (AA) in North and East of Syria, Abdul Hamid al-Muhbash will deliver the opening speech and a speech on behalf of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) in the Euphrates region.

A speech will be delivered on behalf of the women of the Euphrates region during the activities of Newroz along with a speech on behalf of the military forces in the region.

Then, the closing speech will be delivered with which the activities of Newroz of Kobani will conclude after presenting more artist performances.

Vast attendance  

Massive crowds from the Arab and Kurdish components flocked to the celebration in addition to administrators in the institutions of the Autonomous Administration of North and East of Syria; the co-chair of the Executive Body of DAA Abdul Hamid al-Muhbash and administrators and members of the Euphrates region (the cantons of Kobani and Girê Spî).
 
Unusual ambience

In the early hours of the morning, the residents began packing all the necessities of joy and celebration and headed to Newroz celebrations square, raising Kurdish flags and symbols, most of which were pictures of the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan and flags of the People's and Women's Protection Units and the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM).

It was noticeable to see the majority of the participants in the celebration wearing Kurdish folkloric uniforms expressing the Kurdish culture to be a true embodiment of the Kurdish identity.

On the stage, pictures of martyred commanders of the Kurdistan Liberation Movement in addition to pictures of hunger strikers to lift the isolation on Ocalan and pictures of the martyrs of the resistance of Afrin; the martyr Avista Khabour, Barin Kobani and the martyr Zulkev who was martyred after the hunger strike were hung.
