Meeting between Putin, Netanyahu postponed

The Israeli Jerusalem Post reported that the meeting between Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin was postponed to a few days later, according to a well-informed political source.

According to the same source, the meeting was postponed with the consent of both parties and a new date will be set as soon as possible.

Netanyahu and Putin are expected to make a phone call on Thursday. Reports from sources close to Netanyahu say that among the reasons for the cancellation of the meeting are Netanyahu's political efforts to unite the right-wing parties in electoral alliances before submitting lists of candidates by tomorrow evening.

At the same time, the meeting, which is scheduled to finalize the list of Likud candidates, was postponed until tomorrow.

The newspaper said that Netanyahu was waiting for his meeting with the Russian President and was supposed to be the first meeting between the two since the crisis of the Russian plane shot down by the Syrian air defense.

According to the newspaper, the Israeli prime minister intends to travel to Moscow with a group of Israeli military officials, including the commander of the air force and head of military intelligence to discuss various aspects of the situation in Syria.
