Gulistan Çiya Îke: Legacy of Amed prison resistance is being renewed

To lift the severe isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan, the Kurds in Strasbourg and France began an open hunger strike,  the hunger strike entered its 57th day.

One of the women hunger strikers in Strasbourg, the journalist Gulistan Çiya Îke, said in an interview with ANHA agency.

Gulistan noted, "the international forces that are members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) have a hand in this system. Therefore the goal is not only to change the regime in Turkey, but is to change the positions of international forces that participated in this plot also, the countries are forced to change their position ."

'Women find that the danger against Ocalan, is a danger against them'

"On November 8 last year, Leyla Guven declared an open hunger strike in the Turkish state court. This resistance, which was launched by her, turned into a campaign of resistance, because the Kurdish people as a whole was waiting for the movement to break the isolation, it is possible that this movement was delayed, and should have started before now, the Kurdish women with the thought of the leader Abdullah Ocalan became the forefront of access to freedom, and began to struggle today they escalated this struggle, and out of the borders of Kurdistan therefore, women find the threat to Ocalan as a threat to them ."

'This stage is important '

Gulistan said that the anniversary of the international plot against the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan has approached, and said, "Twenty years ago, Imrali regime is practiced against the leader, and the vanguard of women is fighting a great struggle, but this struggle was not enough to end this system, recently, especially in 2015, there are attempts to renew this isolation, and these attempts began on the basis of war and annihilation, and one of the bases of these attempts were placed in Bakour "North Kurdistan", and the other was against the revolution of Rojava, after preventing the meeting with Ocalan , the Turkish state stepped up its threats and attacks which are the result of the severe isolation imposed on Abdullah Ocalan.

'In order to ensure victory, the resistance must be stepped up'

Gulistan concluded, "The campaign of resistance to break the isolation of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, to defeat fascism and to reach the freedom of Kurdistan is a historic campaign. This campaign will have a significant impact on Kurdistan and its location, and to ensure victory, we must escalate the resistance, strengthen the struggle, and form a ring around the resistance of leader Abdullah Ocalan, and on the anniversary of the international conspiracy against him, we will destroy the regime of Imrali, and end the isolation imposed on the leader."
