Afrin, al-Shahba women's voices raised demanding Ocalan's freedom

To condemn the international conspiracy on the Kurdish people leader Abdullah Ocalan and to stand in solidarity with the parliamentarian of the Democratic Peoples' Party Leyla Guven, Afrin Kongra Star in Ahdath district in al-Shahba canton organized an activity under the slogan "We Will Lift Isolation, Break Fascism, and We Will Guarantee Establishing the Democratic Nation."

Hundreds of women from Afrin and al-Shahba with all components, the members of the women organizations and institutions and of the Future Syria Party participated in the activity.

The participants held the pictures of the Kurdish people leader Abdullah Ocalan and the parliamentarian Leyla Guven in addition to carrying banners with the slogans "With Free Women's Spirit, We Will Break the Restrictions of Imrali Prison. Liberate Ocalan. The Leader Ocalan's Freedom is the Peoples'. Our Promise is to Break Imrali's Regime and Live Free with the Leader" written on.

The activity started with holding a minute of silence. After that, the participants listened to the a voice record of the Kurdish people leader Abdullah Ocalan while he was talking about women and their role in the societies, the schemes carried out by the hostile sides against women and their freedom to eliminate their role and the need to activate women's role in all aspects of life and fight the authoritarian mentality.

Women belief in Ocalan's thought

After that, the member of Kongra Star Coordination in Afrin canton Wahida Khalil said, "As the Black day is approaching and on behalf of women, we condemn and denounce the international conspiracy carried out against the Kurdish people leader Abdullah Ocalan who created the beginning of ending the authority and the concept of one language and culture with his thought and revolution."

Wahida confirmed that the conspirators against Ocalan and the Kurdish people do not know that millions of women and peoples that belief in Ocalan's thought are adhere to Ocalan's thought, and they insist to follow it. They will be revolting against the enemies and will not surrender to the fascism.

Wahida regretted the existence of Human Rights' organizations and institutions while the Turkish state seeks to eradicate the peoples and impose its Ottoman Sultanate again.

Wahida assured, "The activity of hunger strike that was carried out by Leyla Guven is the activity of the peoples that belief in democracy as her demands and ours' are one. We assure that this is the women's strength that was derived from Ocalan's thought."

The activity concluded with chanting the slogans that salute women's resistance and the parliamentarian Leyla Guven, and that call for Ocalan's freedom amid the women's trills with the revolutionary songs.
