White House hosts conference to eliminate IS

The White House said in a statement that the US President Donald Trump will deliver a speech at a ministerial meeting hosted by the State Department on Wednesday to discuss future plans to defeat IS organization according to the US "The Wall Street Journal" newspaper.

The newspaper said, "Trump's administration will face some of its skeptical allies on Wednesday when it hosts a meeting for the World Alliance against IS, which is a gathering that comes as the United States plans to withdraw its troops from Syria while asks the partners to do more."

The statement said that the meeting would bring together the 79-member Global Coalition in Washington to move forward simultaneously with defeating IS in a spirit of unity and common purpose."

The US State Department said earlier on Monday that the meeting that is the tenth of its kind since the Alliance was formed in 2014 would focus on the resources required and plans set for 2019.

The newspaper says, "Trump's recent decision to withdraw troops from Syria and his recent controversial comments on the US forces in Iraq will overshadow the meeting to a large extent."
