Agreement between Hewlêr, Baghdad Gov. for Peshmerga return to Kirkuk

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Peshmerga in Kurdistan Region of Iraq Jabbar Yawar declared in a press statement the agreement with the Iraqi Ministry of Defense on the return of the Peshmerga to Kirkuk and the disputed areas in accordance with Article 140 of the Constitution according to what Russia quoted on Wednesday.

He said in a press statement that the negotiations with the Iraqi Ministry of Defense were serious, and there was an understanding between the two sides about the need for joint action.

The statement said, "We held a meeting between the two sides after a year and several months passed on the meetings held in al-Mosul on the events of October 16, 2017 and the accompanying violation of Article 9 of the Constitution which prohibits the use of the army against citizens, where the force used to remove Peshmerga from the recovered areas from IS. "

He pointed out that the meeting aims to resume joint work between the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi army in Diyala, Tuzkhurmato, Kirkuk, Mekhmour and eastern and western al-Mosul."
