In Resistance of the Age... "Aggression targeted everyone so resistance was their task"

The people of Afrin drew the name of the Resistance of the Age with their sacrifices and strong determination, children, women, the elderly and young people of all components and sects coexisted over the years and supported each other to face the international conspiracy that has been waged against the region.

Shelling targeted everyone and protection is also everyone’s task

The young man Ali Nouri Mohammed, 26 years old, from Qurna village in Bulbul district, his village witnessed the most violent attacks, in the first days of the resistance, Ali was also watching the situation in his region.

About the third day of resistance in 22 January 2018, the young man Ali said, "The bombing targeted the civilians everywhere in Afrin and we had to take the initiative and support the People and Women Protection Units, as the bombing was targeting everyone, so the resistance was everyone’s task."

Defeating and thwarting the enemy's attacks

Ali says that the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries attacked the village within a span of 20 days more than four times with their warplanes and all heavy weapons and failed to occupy it.

In 23 January, late at night, until the sun rose, the Turkish occupation army targeted Qurna village. They were about 60 mercenaries gathered on the outskirts of the village with a fierce attack and managed to stay there for only four hours.

Brutal and dirty methods used against civilians

After heroic resistance of the fighters, Ali said they managed to retrieve the village from the Turkish occupation and returned to it again in the morning of 24 December. In this context, Ali says, "We returned to the village after 4 hours of Turkish presence, and there we found that they spread a great chaos and they threatened the civilians who were there, most of them were elderly, they opened fire randomly to intimidate them, because they could not steal cattle and olive oil from the residents, so they shot and killed livestock and burned some houses."

For fear of our will, they fled and left weapons and equipment behind

Attacking for the second time, occupation attacked Qurna village in 1 February, they were more than 100 people, but they were also defeated in their attack and we were able to seize a car with Dushka, and the third was in 5 February after we inflicted them heavy losses of lives and equipment, the clashes with the mercenaries continued about 7 hours in a row. They also could not control. Intimidated, they fled and left behind them all the weapons and the equipment to flee easily and quickly.

We will liberate Afrin

In this revolutionary spirit, Ali today resists in al-Shahba canton beside the people of Afrin and confirms his readiness to participate in the liberation of Afrin and that they did not and will not surrender to the aggression and its fascist policy whatever the cost is.
