Secretary -General of National Gathering: Higher Kurdish interests require close ranks

The statements of the Secretary-General of the Kurdistan National Gathering, Mohammed Abbas, on the initiative launched by the Kurdistan National Congress Committee - Rojava of the unity of the Kurdish people, came during a special interview conducted by Hawar News Agency after participating in the meeting of the Presidential Council of the Syrian Democratic Council(MSD) in ​​Ain Issa district.

Abbas said: "Our vision for the initiative of the Kurdistan National Congress on the unification of the Kurdish house comes from a positive and sound perspective, the fact that the region and especially the Kurdish people are going through a difficult period, our enemies are many, especially the head of terrorism, Recap Tayyip Erdogan, who directed  IS mercenaries to launch an attack on the region."

Abbas pointed out that before the announcement of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in Rojava, they called for unifying the Kurdish class by launching this initiative in order to face the dangers and stages experienced by the region.

He continued: "Unfortunately, some Kurdish organizations and parties did not respond to this initiative, especially the Kurdish National Council and the Kurdish Democratic Progressive Party."

Abbas pointed out that, there are ongoing contacts between members of the Kurdistan National Congress and the Kurdish parties in order to arrange the Kurdish house and unite its speech.

He pointed out that the Kurdish supreme interests require unification of the Kurdish ranks, in line with the Turkish threats to launch a military operation on the northern and eastern regions of Syria, and occupation of the region as it did in Afrin, which resisted for 58 days.

Abbas added: "In my personal opinion who does not respond to this initiative at this sensitive stage, what is his work and what is he doing? We have relieved the burden on them, so why they are not responding?"

Abbas explained that some parties linked to the Kurdish axis so that they did not respond to the initiative of the Kurdistan National Congress-Rojava.

 He said that the Kurdish National Council linked to the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Başûr Kurdistan, if the Kurdistan Democratic Party wants to unite the Kurdish National Council it must call the National Council to participate in the Autonomous Administration .

He noted that they had called several times through the media and sent letters to the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and his political bureau officials not to stand in front of the unification of the Kurdish ranks, to gain and preserve the Kurdish people.

In a press conference held in the city of Qamishlo, the Kurdistan National Congress Committee - Rojava announced on 4 January that unlicensed parties could open their offices from now on, in a step towards uniting the Kurdish ranks.
