PYD 3rd conference in Dêrik ended electing new administrative council

With the participation of 650 members of PYD, the purpose of discussing the organizational matters of the party's work and electing a new administrative board, the party held its third conference of Dêrik organization.

The conference held the slogan "With Will and Organization, We Will Liberate Afrin and Build a Decentralized and Democratic Syria," and a number of representatives of the political parties and the civil society institutions attended the conference.

The conference began with the speech of the co-chair of PYD Shahoz Hassen as he welcomed all participants in the conference.

Hassen said, "Syria is no longer like before because most cities and towns have been completely destroyed, and they have become the war arena for all regional and international countries to share the land, and this is a fact that everyone knows."

Hassen added that the mindset of the regime has not changed so far and has not accepted democracy, considering that the regime imagines that it is capable of re-controlling the Syrian territories through Russia's support. He added that this mindset hinders the Syrian crisis and makes it difficult to be solved it in the future.

Hassen also said, "The objective of the Turkish occupation is to subject the area to its control to pass its policies in the area."

Hassen concluded his speech saying, "The Democratic Union Party must escalate the struggle and organize itself depending on the ideology and philosophy of the democratic nation called on by the leader Abdullah Ocalan away from nationalism, ethnicity, sectarianism and reactionary mindset with a free spirit and will, organization and the goal that is represented by Afrin's liberation and the entry to a new stage."

Then, many speeches were delivered on behalf of Kongra Star and the Martyrs' Families Council. The speeches congratulated holding the third conference of the Democratic Union Party and wished them success.

After the speeches completed, a divan consisted of five members was formed, the annual report was read, and the organizational situation during the past year was discussed.

The participants elected twelve members of both sexes to be within Dêrik District Directorate Board through the ballot boxes. The conference was completed by swearing the oath by council's members to discharge the responsibilities entrusted to them and adhere to the party's principles.
