Abeer Hessaf: If political parties have national sense, they must participate in initiative

The Kurdistan National Congress formed a 5-member committee to discuss all Kurdish political parties in Rojava without exception in the framework of uniting the Kurdish ranks. The call was popularly welcomed in Rojava and northern Syria, but there are ambiguities in the positions of some Kurdish political parties.

ANHA agency held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Liberal Party Abeer Hessaf on her vision of the initiative of the Kurdistan National Congress, the importance of holding the consultative meeting, and the position of some Kurdish parties.

Abeer said at the beginning of her speech that with the start of conflicts on the Syrian territories, the Kurdish parties have moved away from each other because of the problems and contradictions among them at a time when the word would have been one, but the contradictions among the political movements negatively affect the Kurdish street.

She said that the political crisis and the eight-year conflict have made us witness international and regional interference in Syria. There are many parties trying to pass their policies at the expense of our existence, each party is trying to make us stand by its side to protect its interests and influence in the region.

She added, "Besides, there are threats by the Turkish state to our regions which confirm the importance of the initiative of the Kurdistan National Congress to form a Kurdish unit."

Abeer said that the initiative of the Kurdistan National Congress at this stage is a blessed step, and described the attempts of the Congress to create climates to gather the political movement and resolve their contradictions and problems as the excellent step.

Abeer explained that the Turkish threats to the regions of north and east of Syria primarily target the democratic project which is led by the Kurds in the region. She also stressed that the goal of Turkey is the areas in which the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) have been formed. The Turkish state is hostile towards the Kurdish people and reject them.

Abeer said, "Earlier, the Kurdistan National Congress had met with all political parties without exception to hold a Kurdistan national conference, and found that some political parties were arguing not to participate in the consultative meeting."

They were arguing about the presence of detainees in the prisons or that their offices were closed, but now, the situation is different, they can open their offices. Now, let them come to the negotiating table if they have a national sense to work together to stand up to the attacks and the risks that are being waged against us.

Abeer concluded her speech, "We hope the Kurdish political movement to move away from narrow partisan interests so that we can work together as required by the stage."
