Israel ends "North Shield" Operation

Israel has discovered all the tunnels dug by Hezbollah to infiltrate into its territory, the Israeli army confirmed on Sunday the end of the process of uncovering and destroying Hezbollah's offensive tunnels, which he called the "North Shield".

"We have found another offensive tunnel for Hezbollah (the sixth) under the border from Lebanon to Israel," military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricos told reporters. "According to our assessment, there is no longer any other trans-border tunnel."

Israel launched a large-scale operation to uncover and destroy the tunnels on 4 December along its border with Lebanon, where it said the party planned to use it in any future conflict with it.

Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the destruction of tunnels built by Hezbollah, according to Israel, to infiltrate into its territory "is nearing to be completed."

"Extraordinary work has been done here to prevent Hezbollah from using the tunnels weapons," Netanyahu said during a visit to the operations site.
