Al-Hanada sheikh confirms clans' rejection of Turkish threats

Al-Hanada Arab clan's sheikh Ibrahim al-Issa said that the tribes of the region reject any attacks on the areas of northern and eastern Syria, stressing that they would not accept the repetition of the scenario of Jarabulus, Azaz and Afrin in their areas which were liberated thanks to the sacrifices of their people.

In an interview conducted by ANHA agency with al-Hanada tribe's sheikh in Tel Abyed / Girê Spî Ibrahim al-Issa, he confirmed that the Arab tribes on the ground totally reject the Turkish threats.

Al-Issa confirmed, "The mistakes and occupation that took place in Jarabulus, Azaz, al-Rai and Afrin must not take place in our regions because the people are aware of this and saw what happened in the areas occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries; killing, and looting. The people and the existed forces will defend their land against any oppressive occupier."

Sheikh Ibrahim al-Issa pointed out that security, safety and respect for the rights of the citizens in the north and east of Syria do not exist in other areas in Syria. He pointed out that the people in the region are satisfied with the existed departments, councils and forces because there is no authority but equality among everybody.

On the role of the Arab tribes in the region in the expulsion of IS mercenaries from their areas, al-Issa said, "On 15-6-2016, IS mercenaries were defeated from the area of Tel Abyed. Since the early days of the liberation, we and the elders of the region have met with the People and Women Protection Units (YPG, YPJ) to announce the formation of the Senate Council in the region which is consisted of 114 members. At the beginning of the liberation and after the meeting, the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) was declared in the area of Tel Abyed."

"Those who claim to be tribes' sheikhs while they live in Turkey represent only themselves"

Al-Issa said in an indication to those used by Turkey to serve its agendas, "The elders of the Arab tribes and other clans are on the ground in northern and eastern Syria, and those who call themselves tribes' sheikhs in Turkey represent themselves only and do not represent any of the Arab tribes in the region. The tribal elders and sheikhs here are active with the Democratic Autonomous Administration, and no one from abroad can decide their fate because they are the owners of the land."

He pointed out, "Those who call themselves the tribal sheikhs and are present in Turkey do not represent any citizen in the north and east of Syria. We are the tribes in the area of Tel Abyed, and our decision is at our hands because we are on the ground. Those who claim themselves to be the tribal sheikhs in Turkey cannot represent us."
