Sheikh Aali: Turkey does not accept successes in N, E Syria, aims to foil them

This came during an interview conducted by Hawar news agency (ANHA) with the secretary of the Kurdish Democratic Unity Party in Syria (Yekiti) Mohiuddin Sheikh Ali.

The dialogue reads as follows:

- How do you assess the situation in the area in light of the Turkish threats and how do you evaluate the local, regional and international attitudes towards these threats?

The roles and interventions of Turkey inside Syria have a historical record full of aggression and expansionism at the expense of the lands and borders of the Syrian state, apart from international laws and norms, including the necessity to respect the principle of good neighborliness and its emerging threats in conjunction with its suspicious military mobilization towards the east of the Euphrates, is being considered as escalation and activation to core of their chauvinistic tendencies toward others, Kurds or Arabs, especially as they are still stuck in playing a role that meets the purposes of the forces of political Islam inside the Syrians, by striking the Kurdish presence, which is a hindrance on the ground to expand.

The positions of most countries and parliamentary blocs in general are conservative and do not bless Turkey's follow-up of these behaviors and intentions, without the exception of Qatar, whose leadership recently supported Turkey's occupation of the Afrin region under the name of Olive Branch Operation, prompted by the global organization of the Muslim Brotherhood and its jihadist groups.

- In this situation, and in order to preserve the gains achieved by the people in north and east of Syria, what are the options open to you, what is the way to go at this stage?

The relative safety and cohabitation of the daughters and sons of the north-east components of Syria, from Manbij and Kobani, through al-Hasakah and Qamishlo to Derik and Tel Kojar, under Autonomous Administration councils and Syrian Democratic Forces that have achieved and still have field successes in repulsive attacks of IS, AKP Party in Ankara and its associates, not only that, but makes them confused, preparing to seize a suitable opportunity to attack these areas and cause the spread of chaos and destruction, resulting in all the forces and political and community to undertake its duty for such an imminent threat, a pause that protects and strengthens bridges and bonds of coexistence which is irreplaceable, and unite together hand in hand to repel the risk of these Turkish threats, which is tantamount to external blatant and abhorrent aggression, whatever the tools of the Turkish-Muslim media in their attempts to legitimize and justify this aggression sought and devised under the pretext of Turkish national security.

-Erdogan said in his recent statements that he will teach the Kurds in the area a lesson, that is, his goal is the Kurds and eliminate them. As a Kurdish party, how do you evaluate these direct threats? What do Kurdish parties need to do in light of these direct threats?

The Turkish president's direct speech on more than one occasion, which was filled with threats and to use the logic of blind force against the Kurds and (teach them a lesson) to invade East Euphrates, has a seasonal dimension connected to the chart of Erdogan's electoral base, as the date of the municipal elections approach in Turkey on the one hand and to satisfy his ally MHP President, on the other hand, in a way to sharpen and irritate the racism of certain segments of the blackness of the Turkish people, in order to continue to put pressure on the Kurds by the methods and tools of war psychological information media directly Erdogan, forgetting that he is president of the republic and a significant state in the United Nations, should not contribute to the dissemination of the culture of violence and hatred, and provoke racial differences, whatever differences in political visions and positions.

- In your opinion, where does the future of the region goes?

The best response to the official Turkish discourse, which historically rejects the rights of the Kurdish people everywhere, is to double the dissemination of knowledge and awareness to be vigilant about the risks and the performance of tasks, including the convergence and defusing of internal tensions, in order to crystallize the participants and adopt a unified speech in defense of the just cause of the Kurdish people and the threat to its existence, in light of the escalating threats of Turkey and its policies. In this context, we believe that the holding of consultative meetings in order to prepare for the convening of a general national conference of the Syrian Kurds as well as a national conference of Kurdistan is of paramount importance and requires concerted efforts.

- Your message to the people and political parties in north of Syria?

The size and depth of the contradictions and crises experienced by the societies and countries of the region does not bode well for the foreseeable future, especially since there is a blatant disregard for the decisions of the UN Security Council, the UN Charter, the Human Rights Charter and the relevant covenants and protocols. The struggle in many forms remains strong, and the struggle for peace, freedom and equality is always growing and expanding whatever the odds.

What is before everyone's eyes is that the Turkish side today is doubling its efforts to incite public opinion against the Kurds and portraying them as not wanting the good and the peace for Syria and the peoples of the region. They are separatist terrorists who cultivate chaos and disunity between the components of North Syria, Kurds, Arabs, Christians and Muslims, which requires all parties and political, cultural and societal actors, and in all their intentions and influence, to accelerate their historical duty without hesitation, and hand in hand to expose the continuation of Turkish threats and take all possible and legitimate measures to thwart them.
