Kurds in Lebanon go on hunger strike demanding Ocalan's freedom

The Kurds in Lebanon called for freedom of Ocalan, denouncing the isolation imposed by the Turkish state, declaring their solidarity with Leyla Guven. They also pointed out that Turkey aims to undermine the will of the Kurdish people who took the stance of steadfastness and resistance through the activity of the strike organized on Tuesday .

The Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) and Kongra Star in Lebanon organized a one-day hunger strike to denounce the isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan while stressing their continued activities until release him from Imrali prison.

The activity was held at Newroz Cultural and Social Association, where dozens of Kurds participated.

The event was decorated with pictures of Ocalan as well as Kurdish flags and symbols.

The activity started with an audio clip of Ocalan talking about the Kurdish issue and ways to achieve freedom for oppressed peoples

It was followed by a speech by the administrator of the (TEV-DEM) , Sharvin Judy, who in her turn praised the participants for their hunger strike.

Sharafin said that Kurdish parliamentarian Leyla Guven who has been on hunger strike since 35 days , demanding the freedom of Ocalan, rejecting the Turkish state's repressive policies against the Kurdish people.

Sharvin noted that Turkey wants its policies to undermine the will of the Kurdish people who have declared their steadfastness and resistance towards them to reach their freedom.

After which the activity of the hunger strike continues with the slogans of Ocalan and the resistance of Leyla Guven on the listening of revolutionary songs.
