AL-Shahba canton: Hope NY Day for liberating Afrin, ending pain

On the occasion of New Year's Day, Al-Shahba Canton's Council issued a congratulatory telegram in which it congratulated the Christian world, the people of al-Shahba, Syria and the world in general.

The text included:

"We in al-Shahba canton first congratulate the Christian world and the people of al-Shahba in particular and the peoples of Syria and the world in general, hoping that peace and security prevail, and that we reach the end of the tragedy experienced by the oppressed peoples, and that Syria emerge from its crisis and spreading security and stability in it.

We hope that the new year, after eight years of war and destruction, will be the year of a political solution, ending with Syrian suffering and returning to the occupied territories of North Syria to its people.

We also congratulate on this occasion the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) which have achieved great victories over terrorism in defense of the human and democratic values of the civilized world, and we wish them more victory.

We congratulate martyrs' families and their mothers who gave birth to heroes who sacrificed their lives, and they were torches of light and glory and redemption.

Glory and eternity to our martyrs

The speedy recovery of our wounds and freedom of detainees in the prisons of darkness."
