'Turkish soldiers shoot to enforce civilians to displace'

Residents of Qamishlo city at the border between Qamishlo and Nusaybin said that the Turkish occupation army are deliberately targeting them daily with bullets, in order to intimidate and displace them. They said "Our presence, our history and our lives are our land."

Since the eruption of Rojava Revolution on July 19, 2012, the Turkish state has been carrying out attacks on the people of Rojava and North and East of Syria across the artificial border between Rojava and Bakur (northern Kurdistan). The Turkish state on 20 January launched an attack through hundreds of planes and occupied Afrin canton and changed its demography now, and now threatens to occupy north and east areas of Syria.

The Turkish occupation army, located between Qamishlo on one hand and Rojava and Nusaybin on the other hand, occupies the land of Bakur Kurdistan, causing violations against the people in order to intimidate and displace them. ANHA agency met the residents living near the border.

They graze their sheep amid fear

Sayid Ali Hasan, is 75 years old and father of 10 children. For 56 years he has been grazing in Qamishlo city. Sayid cannot graze his sheep near the border because of the Turkish state soldiers. He grazes his sheep 300-350 meters from the border.

"A year ago, a shepherd was shot dead by the Turkish occupation army, we cannot approach the border, they shoot us, we graze our sheep amid fear," Sayid Ali said, "the good grass is near the border, but we cannot approach fearing of bullets.”

Turkish state soldiers killed my son

The son of Sayid Ali, 14-year-old Kawa Sayid, was killed by Turkish state soldiers in 2010 at the border. "My son was 14 years old, he was playing with his brother, he was killed by Turkish state soldiers, there is no sentiment," said Sayid Ali. "Were there weapons with my son?" No, but Turkish state soldiers always target civilians, shepherds who do not have weapons, they shoot them, this land is our land, we will not get out of our land no matter what they do. "

Our existence, history and life are our land

One of the families living in the neighborhood of Haliliya in Qamishlo 400 meters from their home. Farhan Shikhmos, 65 years spoke about the threats of the Turkish state and said: "The Turkish state soldiers are shooting at our homes, with the aim of displacing us from our homes, history, existence and our life is our lands. Even if we died we will die on our land. The Turkish state has no right to attack our land, our liberated land, we are confident of our will and we will not fear the attacks of the Turkish state."
