A car bomb exploded in the central of Somali capital Mogadishu at a checkpoint near the National Theater, followed by a second explosion near the site of the first blast according to Reuters.

Somali police said that at least 13 people were killed and 17 got wounded in an attack with tow booby-trapped vehicles near the president's residence in Mogadishu.

In a statement broadcasted by al-Andalus Radio, al-Shabaab Movement declared its responsibility for the two explosions, and said that the second blast also took place with a mined vehicle, and targeted those who gathered at the site of the first explosion.
