Turkey strives to undermine stability in Şengal via its agents

On December 13, the Turkish occupation army's aircrafts bombed Mexmûr (Makhmour) camp for refugees (The Martyr Restum Judy camp) and Şengal areas in Başûr Kurdistan. The bombardment resulted in martyring a number of civilians, and they were Asya Ali Mohammed who was at 73, her daughter Nareng Farhan Qassem, at 26, her granddaughter Avin Kawa who was 14 years old and Eilem Mohammed Omer whose age was 23. Three civilians from Kubani were also martyred and they were Khalil Qera Ali and Mostafa Hajji from Qulani village and Mahmoud Khan Temo.

The co-chair of the Yazidi Democracy and Freedom Party Omer Saleh spoke to Hawar news agency about these attacks, and stressed that the Turkish state targets the Yazidi people, especially during the holy days, and it aims to undermine the stability and security in Mexmûr and Şengal.

'Yazidi holy events and days are targeted'

In the beginning, Saleh pointed to the continuation of the Turkish plans against the Yazidi people, and he said, "The Turkish occupation state continues its hostility against the Yazidi people and all the peoples. The Turkish state targets the Yazidi holy days and events and has previously targeted Mam Zaki Şengali during a filthy scheme. Mam Zaki Şengali was an important figure for the Yazidi people so he was targeted by the occupiers. The Turkish state, through its aggressions and threats, seeks to destabilize Şengal. The Turkish threats have been repeated under the pretext of the existence of Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), but everyone knows that PKK is not present in Şengal now."

'Through its silence, the Iraqi government is a partner of the Turkish occupation in its attacks'

Saleh said, "The Iraqi government has linked its interests to the Turkish state. If the attacks targeted Şengal and Mexmûr today, they will reach al-Mosul and the rest of Iraq tomorrow. The Turkish state's goal is to control Rojava, Şengal and South Kurdistan areas striving at reviving the new Ottoman Empire, but all that are just dreams and fantasies."

'IS are Erdogan's students'

Saleh also referred to the massacres committed against the Yazidis, and he said, "So far, the Yazidis have been subjected to 74 massacres. As we have managed to withstand 74 massacres, we will continue resistance. Committing genocide against the Yazidi people does not benefit any country. The international silence towards the massacres committed against the Yazidis at the hands of the Turkish state is a great shame. The Turkish state will not be able to undermine the will of the Yazidi people and the other peoples who are eager for freedom. They are seeking to empty Mexmûr and Şengal of their inhabitants, but they must know that our people will continue resisting against Erdogan's students; IS, and they will resist against the genocide mentality."

'Turkish Intelligence's agents were deployed in Şengal'

Saleh said that the Turkish state has deployed the intelligence's elements and agents in Şengal, "The Turkish state, through its agents, seeks to spread chaos and strives in the area, but the Turkish Intelligence will not succeed. The people of Şengal, Şengal Resistance Units and Women Units in Şengal managed to protect their presence against IS mercenaries, and they achieved victory. This resistant people will resist the Turkish state's attacks, threats and intelligence. No one will be able to undermine our will. Şengal people managed to organize themselves on the approach and thought of the leader Ocalan."

'History will not forgive the Turkish state's agents'

The co-chair of the Democracy and Freedom Party in Şengal Omer Saleh appealed at the end of his speech to unify the ranks, "We must unite our ranks to be able to counter these attacks and threats. If we succeeded in uniting our ranks, no one would be able to seek at eliminating us. The history will not forgive those agents who work for the Turkish Intelligence. We also call on the Iraqi government to put an end to its silence and express a clear position towards the attacks of the Turkish occupying state."
