'Erdogan is afraid about IS'

The sheikhs of al-Raqqa city said that the Turkish threats came after the advance of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on the accounts of the mercenaries in their last stronghold, pointing out, "Erdogan's statements are as a father who is afraid for his children."

The reaction of the people of northern and eastern Syria against the Turkish threats to launch attacks on the region is still ongoing, where the elders of the city of al-Raqqa said that the Turkish statements came in conjunction with the end of IS mercenaries in Syria.

The head of Advisory Council in the Euphrates region Ahmad al-Arouni said, "We condemn the Turkish statements because the areas of north and east of Syria are free today. After the liberation of al-Raqqa, we live a participatory life full of love and hope for a better and beautiful future."

He added "Al-Raqqa and the rest of the areas live in a state of security. Turkey will lose its ally (IS) in Syria so that Erdogan threatens to launch attacks on our areas."

Sheikh Nayef al-Shuaib, the head of the Religious Affairs Institution in al-Raqqa, said, "Today, we are not surprised by the Turkish threats that have been trying to kill the Syrians for decades."

He added, "We do not forget the borders that have remained open for years and the flow of thousands of mercenaries from all over the world for destroying and killing the Syrian people, but today, Turkey's strategic ally is collapsing."

He noted, "Erdogan, the father of IS mercenaries is afraid of his children from the inevitable death. We in northern and eastern Syria are all projects of martyrdom and sacrifice for peace and freedom."
