Al-Raqqa notables: We to repel any attack, regime must take decisive attitude

The statements of al-Raqqa sheikhs and clans' notables came after the statements of the Turkish President Recep Teyyip Erdogan and his threats to launch attacks on areas of North and East Syria.

Sheikh Mohammed Turki al-Suwaan, the notable of Sabkha clan, said, "The countries of the world, especially the International Coalition must put an end to Erdogan's actions and take a decisive attitude about these aggressive statements of Erdogan towards our people in the North of Syria, considering them inhuman and irrational brutality to achieve goals that run counter to the interests of the Syrian people."

Turki al-Sawaan said, "Turkey is aiming to prolong IS' life in the area after the liberation of the last pocket by virtue of SDF. Today, IS' mercenaries are imminent to be eliminated in Deir-ez-Zor in the last stage while the Turkish forces immediately initiate to create sedition, military escalation and deployment of troops on the border to make the military and civil forces in a state of dispersion."

Sheikh Ayed al-Hadi, the Sheikh of the al-Moss al-Zaher expressed his rejection of any Turkish threat. He said, "There are weak people tempted by the money and personal ambitions to achieve the interests of the Turkish state. We reject any aggressive target against our territories. It is the duty of every honorable Syrian to have respect for his land, his honor and his dignity."

Al- Hadi made clear, "The Syrian government must take a decisive decision to defend its territorial integrity, stand against such statements and make a formal decision as these threats include the sovereignty of the Syrian state which is part of Syria, and its people are one people with all its various spectra and components. He also sent a message to those setting in hotels where are you, the people of Syria and its territorial integrity? Syria has its honorable people in the trenches and you are in the hotels in the embrace of the Turkish state.

Al-Hadi said that during the Syrian crisis, Arab and Kurdish blood mixed to liberate their city from terrorism. As we were able to liberate those areas, we would be the bulwark against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries. The honorable international countries must consider with a humanitarian view of what is happening in North Syria in particular and Syria in general to stop the Syrian blood and unify the Syrian ranks. We are not terrorists as Erdogan and his mercenaries claim, we are liberators, and we are not terrorists.
