Muslem called on North-East Syria peoples to depend on themselves against Turkish threats

The statements of the co-chair of the Relations Office in the Democratic Union Party and the spokesperson on behalf of the party Saleh Muslem came after the threats launched by the Turkish President Receb Teyyib Erdogan about an imminent occupying operation against North-East Syria.

Muslem said, "As for the recent Turkish threats, they are an indication to the aggravated situation in Turkey. Moreover, Turkey has been in a real critical situation in Idlib."

Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper talked about a new Russian-Turkish deal that includes Turkey's entry to the areas of North Syria in exchange for the Syrian government's entry into the areas of South Idlib.

The newspaper quoted from officials in the so-called National Army, related to Turkey that it is expected that the operation would include the area from Manbij to Tel Abyed.

Muslem considers that the Turkish threats aim at covering its political and economic failure while the escape according to it would be through the Kurdish people, the weakest party. Turkey also aims to disturb the atmosphere of solution in Syria. Muslem added, "Turkey attempts to gain some concessions from America or some other parties in other areas in Syria."

According to Muslem, "These attempts would be in vain because the area got rid of the concessions stage that would be provided to Turkey by any side."

Muslem stated, "After we have approached the victory in Hajin city, the last strongholds of IS mercenaries in the east of the Euphrates, and Turkey's statements about Hajin and ending IS, that would not be except for defending IS and other mercenary forces supported by Turkey."

Muslem made clear, "This Turkish extortion would not affect Russia nor America in the area because Russia and America have well known the Turkish extortionate policy."

The American Defense Ministry said in the first remark after the Turkish threats, "Launching any unilateral military action in northeastern Syria, especially in the area where American crews are likely to be present is very worrying."

Muslem believed that Turkey may conduct careless actions as a re-action to its loss, but the response of the Syrian north components would be strong.

Turkey's first Foreign Minister Yashar Yakish said yesterday during an interview on RT program, "I was and still saying that Turkey should not have been so involved in the Syrian crisis." Turkey's policy in Syria has become closer to the reality on the ground in Syria thanks to Ankara's cooperation with Moscow in the Syrian file."

Yakish revealed that he said to the former Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, "It is a must to withdraw from Syria."

Muslem said, "We are determined to preserve our gains and defend our land and our existence, and we have only to rely on ourselves in the resistance by organizing our ranks and our people's ranks."

The Diplomat assured, "Since the beginning so far, we have been able to stand against all the attacks. We will continue to resist as we rely on resistant people because our people have lived throughout their lives as resistant people in the attacks they have been subjected to so we must stand in solidarity to respond to any attack that may be committed by Turkey.

Muslem warned of the psychological war practiced by the Turkish media with the aim of emptying the region of its components, and to encourage the people to migrate from the region and abandon their land.

He called on the international community and the International Coalition to fight IS, and the Syrian people to take their attitude against the threats, adding, "Despite all this, we must rely on ourselves in the first place and not rely on other parties to defend ourselves and our land."
