Syed: Erdogan is war criminal ,must be held accountable

The Egyptian writer and journalist Syed Abdel Fattah said in an interview with ANHA agency that what happened in Afrin canton by the Turkish aggression is a series of violations, persecution and hatred against the Kurdish people.

He said that the Turkish occupation of Afrin was a premeditated crime, a crime against humanity, and that what happened in Afrin is an international conspiracy against the Kurdish people. The aim of the aggression was to exterminate the Kurdish people there because Afrin is a symbol for the Kurdish people.

On the decision taken by the military forces during the intensification of the fighting in Afrin and the removal of the people from the city to preserve their lives, Abdel Fattah explained that this decision was correct, and the military forces change the form of the war in Afrin because  they realized there is an international conspiracy aimed at genocide the people of Afrin by the Turkish occupation forces, which used the sophisticated types of heavy weapons such as warplanes, German tanks and modern rocket launchers in the aggression against Afrin.

Abdel Fattah explained that what happened in Afrin is a humanitarian crime aimed at the Kurdish presence, accompanied by international silence, and that this silence is not justified at all.

Abdel Fattah praised the heroic resistance showed by the people of Afrin and the military forces there, which is still going on in its second stage and said, "I am very optimistic about the resistance shown by the people of Afrin and Afrin will be liberated."

On the International Forum held in Amouda, the International Forum on Ethnic Cleansing and Demographic Change in Afrin canton on December 2, which lasted for 3 days, was attended by a number of political and academic figures and administrators from local, regional and international civil society organizations he said, "The forum is an important step, and it must be relied upon and built on for future moves, because what Turkey did in Afrin requires an international and world stand, even by regimes that claim to protect human rights."

Commanders and officials of Turkey must be punished internationally

Abdel Fattah stressed that Turkey has committed a crime against humanity and must be punished and he added "The elements and commanders of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries must be punished fairly, and this punishment must be an international punishment aimed at the regime, according to the rules of international law."

The wide participation of international and international figures in the International Forum on Ethnic Cleansing and Demographic Change in Afrin canton shows that there is an international interest in the violations taking place in Afrin.

Abdel Fattah stressed the need to form a committee or an international human rights bloc in order to punish the Turkish regime headed by Recap Tayyip Erdogan, and said,"

 Erdogan must be punished for being a war criminal, and because he wanted to exterminate the Kurdish people in Afrin, by his explicit orders, innocent civilians were killed, and there is no moral justification for what Erdogan did in Afrin."

Abdel Fattah also pointed to the need for a media move to expose the crimes committed by Erdogan and his army in Afrin, which are still going on.
