Syrian TV said that the Syrian air defenses confronted Sunday evening (December 9th) with what they called "hostile targets" in the vicinity of Damascus International Airport south of the capital.

The Russian news agency Sputnik quoted a senior Syrian military source as saying that Israeli aircraft had violated southern Lebanese airspace and tried to target the vicinity of Damascus International Airport with a number of rockets that were all dropped.

The source pointed out that the objectives that the Israeli air force tried to target in Syria were not determined, because all rockets fired from Lebanese airspace were dropped.
