Kurds in Lebanon demanded freedom of Ocalan

Kongra Star, in coordination with Newroz Cultural and Social Association, organized a demonstration to denounce the isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan and demand his freedom and in solidarity with activist Leyla Guven, the co-chair of the Democratic Society Conference and a member of Parliament of the Democratic Peoples Party (HDP) in Colemêrg Who has been on hunger strike to lift the isolation imposed on the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan, where she was arrested 9 months ago because of her position on the Turkish attacks on Afrin.

The demonstration, which was attended by hundreds of Kurds and raised pictures of Ocalan, Leyla Guven and pictures of the martyrs began from Bishara Khoury Square and headed towards the United Nations headquarters in the area of Riad El Solh in Beirut.

The event began with holding a minute of silence, after which the member of Kongra Star Salma Ibrahim read a statement on behalf of Newroz Association and Kongra Star, the statement said:

"19 years ago and the whole world silent about the dirtiest international conspiracy aimed at hitting the peace and democracy projects in the region , that dirty conspiracy began to appear when several international and regional countries and several international intelligence agencies cooperated in the capture of the great Kurdish leader and intellectual Abdullah Ocalan and handed over to the government of Ankara, which has brought him in a solitary prison on the Sea of Marmara, to declare to the whole world the loss of human moral concepts, and the corruption of values and principles that deal with human rights.

Today, the goals of these countries and the colonial powers are to bring the Middle East into the midst of a world war that ended the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocent people, especially the fascist Turkish State led by the Justice and Development Party(AKP), which has always sought to restore the glory of its Ottoman predecessors.

We condemn the crimes committed by the Turkish fascist State against the Kurdish people and its leader, Ocalan. We hold the international community, the Organization for Human Rights and the United Nations fully responsible for the fate of that great man. We demand that he be released as quickly as possible, and to put pressure on the Turkish government to resolve the Kurdish cause through fair and democratic methods in order to stop the shedding of more blood of oppressed peoples. We also condemn all forms of violence against women in society and at all levels. We also urge women first to circumvent the principles and philosophy of Ocalan, which seek to liberate women and to build a just society of equality and social justice. "

At the end of the statement, the participants chanted slogans that saluted Abdullah Ocalan and the resistance of the prisons.
