125 people in Girkê Legê go on hunger strike

On Sunday morning, the tent of hunger strike was set up by Kongra Star and Democratic Union Party (PYD),denouncing an intensive isolation on the leader Ocalan, and the Co-Chair of Democratic Society Conference and parliamentarian of Democratic People Party in Colemêrg city in Bakur north Kurdistan Leila Guven, who has still been on hunger strike at Amed prison since 7 November, at the Community Protection Forces Center in Girkê Legê district.

Within the tent, pictures of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan, the flags of the People's and Women's Protection Units, Kongra Star and the Democratic Union Party were hung. The hunger strike is scheduled to continue for two days.

Since the morning hundreds of people from Girkê Legê district        and its affiliated villages, members of civil society organizations and people's councils in Girkê Legê district have flowed to as delegations.

During the hunger strike, the administrator in Kongra Star Shaha Khalil explained that their goal of the strike was to denounce an intensive isolation of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan and in solidarity with activist Laila Guven, who has been on hunger strike in Amed prison for more than a month. And called on human rights organizations to intervene immediately and put a limit to the plots being plotted against the Kurdish people and the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The events are scheduled to continue till Monday, the same tent would be set up in Derik city.
