"Syria is the only absentee in the life of politicians"

The meeting was held today in the meeting room of the Democratic Civil Administration of al-Tabqa and in a large presence of the local councils in al-Tabqa and its villages.

The aim of this symposium and other similar series of seminars held in the north and east of Syria was to unify political ideas and visions, to highlight the latest developments in the political arena and to widen the horizons of peoples around what is being woven against them.

Riyad Derrar focused on the failure of the military solution to find a way for the Syrian crisis in its eighth year. The political solution is the most successful and appropriate to move away from the idea of war and revenge and ensure the return of the displaced to their homes.

Riyad Derrar noted that the opposition has failed to achieve its demands because all those who have nominated themselves to represent the opposition are politicians whose only concern is to make political gains to the state that supports them and the absence of those who are more aware of the concerns and problems of the people.

He added, "If we recognize the rights of others we will achieve great achievements and the Syrian people must consider and recognize that Syria is unified in all its components without exclusion of anyone."

In his speech, Riyad Derrar explained why the Arab countries abandoned the Syrian cause, which is their fear of the democratic effect and freedom. These countries have armed the opposition and caused a civil war that has had disastrous consequences for the peoples of the region.

In his speech, Riyad Derrar stressed that Syria is not dividable and nobody is calling for division and that the Syrian Democratic Council(MSD) sat at the table of dialogue with the Syrian regime, but because of the intransigence of the latter and its attempts to impose its conditions, which are rejected by MSD in total without reaching any results or solutions.

At the end of the seminar, Riyad Derrar listened to questions and inquiries from the audience about some developments.
