The symposium was attended by dozens of women from the region, as well as the Women's Committee in the Democratic Civil Administration of al-Tabqa, representatives of the Women's Bureau of the Education Committee, the councils and the houses of women in al-Tabqa and its villages.

During the symposium, the member of the Syrian Women's Council, Jehan Mohammed, spoke about the political situation in the region and the reasons that led to these conflicts in which the Syrian people tasted the scourge over the past years. "The Syrian revolution, which fire ignited from the city of Daraa, under the label of "Syrian opposition" was initially peaceful, but by an act was turned into a chaos that pervaded the country and declared a fierce war waged by the Syrian people among themselves.”

"We are the people of North, East and Syria. We chose the third line, the line of peace, the line of the democratic nation and the brotherhood of peoples embodied by all the components of the North of Syria," she said.

Jehan Mohamed focused on the masculine mentality that has dominated women since ancient times, and women's resistance to this mentality, which is supported by the existence of classes, power, state and civilization.

She explained the reasons for violence against women and the most prominent of these types is physical violence, describing it as a crime against humanity and mankind as a whole and this indicates the brutal mentality lagging behind.

"Today, with the democratic nation's thinking and its principle, women will be able to take their active and leading role in leading the society and organizing it, thus violating all the restrictions of slavery and authoritarianism imposed by customs and traditions," said Jehan Mohammed.

This symposium is the fifth in the campaign "No to enslave women, our freedom of our dignity", which was preceded by several symposiums organized in the city of al-Tabqa and Jaraniya and Mansoura towns.
