Important discussions between Coalition's members, SDF commanders

On Sunday, members of the International Coalition to fight IS met commanders in the ranks of SDF in Serê Kanîyê city, and they discussed the Turkish recent attacks launched on the areas of North and East Syria.

Turkey was the reason of the martyrdom of 7 fighters and 8 civilians in the last month

The members of the Alliance asked the commanders questions about the situation witnessed on the Turkish border. The commander Shervan Qamishlo responded, "The Turkish state opened camps and set up tents on the border between Serê Kanîyê and Turkey. These camps were opened to accommodate the displaced people, but the Turkish state stationed soldiers in the camps in addition to mercenaries of Jabhet al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham. We see their camps well and we know the mercenaries, some of them are from this area. Some of the mercenaries are members within IS. We always see their military column along the border. They also set up stations for the network. Drones hover over the area. The areas that we are talking about start from Serê Kanîyê city to Nestle village in Girê Spî canton as we can see. There are movements in the other areas as well. The Turkish army conducts sniper operations and launches attacks on the people and the fighters. It has launched attacks twice this week, resulting in the injury of two fighters in the ranks of the Self-Defense Forces. Last month, Turkey has breached the Turkish border 62 times. The Turkish attacks led to martyring 7 fighters and 8 civilians, and wounding 13 people."

Turkey launches sniper operations with NATO weapons

SDF commanders confirmed, "Turkey launches sniper operations with NATO weapons. When they attack, and anybody martyr or injure, we also respond to them, but do not lengthen the attacks because if we approach them, the battles will be fierce.

The members of the International Coalition responded to the questions posed by Shervan Qamishlo about the Coalition's position towards the attacks saying, "Now, we want to know what is going on ... The whole world saw how you ended IS. The whole world is happy for this so our government sent us here to support you, but our question is to what extent do SDF want to spread security and safety in the area? "

'We are not warmongers, but we will use our right to defend ourselves'

The commander in the ranks of SDF Shervan Qamishlo said that SDF are charged with the task of protecting the area. Our forces and the people of the region are not proponents of war, and no one wants to enter a war against Turkey, but if Turkey attacks us, everyone is ready to fight in order to defend themselves and their homeland.

Shervan Qamishlo said that they have been working with the Global Coalition since 4 years, and he added, "We have sacrificed many martyrs and achieved many victories. The greatest victory is that this battle is against injustice. Our significant problem today lies in the Turkish state and its fascist government. The Turkish state occupies our land without a justification. This is considered a major crime according to the international law. The Turkish state has killed thousands of our people in al-Bab, Jarabulus and Afrin. Now, it is seeking to attack Manbij and Kobanî. Moreover, all the areas of Rojava are targeted, and they always confirm this in their media outlets. If Turkey enters even a single inch into the territories of Rojava land, we will start a broad war, either we die or win. No doubt, we are not proponents of such a war, and also the Global Coalition Forces are existed in the area. The Turkish state publishes false news and information, and we, in turn, want the Coalition to examine the truth."

'You must tell everybody that SDF strive at achieving stability in the area'

The members of the International Alliance have confirmed their support to SDF, "We seek to a solution that would achieve stability. We will remain here until IS would be defeated and for you to be able to manage your affairs. We have not come here for a short time. This is a political situation, and not everyone can do what it pleases. The European and American forces support you so you must be careful . SDF have not fought anyone, but they defended the people against IS. We are soldiers and we fight for stability. You must publicize what is happening in your media outlets, and at the same time, you must tell us and all the people about what is ongoing. You must say to all the people that SDF seek to spread stability in the region."
