'We will not stand idly by about attacks on Kurdistan people'

The violations of the Turkish occupation army against the people of Afrin have increased recently. After the occupation of Afrin canton on 18 March by the Turkish occupation army, the policy of scorched earth against the people began; the operations of killing, abducting, burning forests, arbitrary arresting and recently cutting the trees which were a source of livelihood for the people of Afrin and selling them as firewood in the markets of the areas occupied by Turkey and controlled by its mercenaries such as Azaz, Jarablus and al-Bab.

In addition, the Turkish occupation army has been carrying out aggressive attacks on North Syria, especially the border villages since 14 November. The Turkish warplanes launched an attack on legitimate defense areas in which 3 civilians lost their lives.

The people of North Syria condemn the attacks of the Turkish occupation army on the areas of Kurdistan and North Syria and its violations against the people of Afrin which are repeated on a daily basis and with different scenarios through statements or organizing demonstrations condemning and denouncing the international silence described by the people of North Syria as a legitimacy for the Turkish policies against the people of Kurdistan and North Syria.

Bahia Hasan from the city of Qamishlo and the member of the Community Protection Units expressed her condemnation of the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation army along the border strip of North Syria and its violations against Afrin. She pointed out, "Erdogan has to know that we will not leave Afrin until the last drop of our blood. Erdogan is killing children and now he is stealing citizens' properties while the international community is silent about these practices."

She said, "We will make every olive grain a bullet to address the Turkish occupation."

Muhi al-Din Hasan, a citizen from Qamishlo city explained that the Turkish occupation army wants to change the demography of Afrin. He said, "The resistance of Afrin continues, and with the support of the fighters of Peoples and Women Protection Units (YPG and YPJ) who are fighting in the second phase of the Resistance of the Age, all the schemes plotted against Afrin failed and will fail."

Samira Ali explained that the Turkish army occupied the city of Afrin, and said, "It is ours and will remain for us. Yes, they occupied Afrin, but they will come out of it empty-handed because the land they occupied is a place where all the Kurds have been living on since ancient times and we will not allow anyone to occupy it no matter how long."
