Clashes in the buffer zone

On Wednesday morning, Arab newspapers touched up a number of important topics, the most important of which are the ongoing violations of the Russian-Turkish agreement in Idlib.

Al-Sharq al-Awsat (Middle East): the clashes renewed in the "Buffer zone" in northern Syria

In this context, al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper reported that the Syrian opposition reported the resumption of escalation on the confrontations' lines in the governorates of Idlib and Hama in the north and center of Syria, between the government forces and the opposition factions in the area under the Sochi Russian-Turkish agreement.

The newspaper added, "A military commander of the National Liberation Front opposed to the German news agency said that the Syrian government forces bombed on Tuesday with heavy artillery and rocket launchers the villages of al-Mushairfa, Tawil al-Halib and al-Katibeh al-Mahjoura (Abandoned Battalion) in the eastern countryside of Idlib and confirmed that the opposition factions responded to the shelling as fierce clashes are ongoing between the two sides on the axis of the Abandoned Battalion and the village of al-Wasata near the town of Abo al-Dhuhor south-east of Idlib."

The newspaper observed the situation in Jarabulus city which is under the domination of the Turkish occupation and said, "Jarablus city's people went to the main streets in the city burning tires to protest against the deterioration of the security situation in the city." Sources in the Syrian opposition in Aleppo in the eastern countryside of Aleppo told German news agency, "The parents are demanding the exit of all military headquarters from the city in full."

Al-Quds al-Arabi: Russian newspapaer: The UAE is negotiating with Damascus to return its diplomats

Al-Quds al-Arabi newspaper reported that The Russian newspaper "Nezavisimaya Gazeta" published an article entitled "Re-establishing relations between Damascus and Abu Dhabi" and written by Igor Sobotin as it focused on ending the Gulf states debate over the legitimacy of Bashar al-Assad for the interest of restoring relations with Damascus. Alexander Axenyounuk, the Russian ambassador confirmed the presence of the talks on the resumption of the work of the UAE embassy in Syria and linked this to the return of Syria to the Arab world. The ambassador Axenyounuk considered that the meeting between the Syrian and Bahraini foreign ministers on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting in New York came within the preparations for restoring the Saudi-Syrian relations to their normal.

Al-Sharq al-Awsat: European questions about the use of Syrian refugees' aid in Turkey

Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper said, "The European Court of Accounts has expressed doubts about the good use of the European Funds by the Turkish authorities allocated for assisting the refugees, especially after Ankara refused to hand over a list of recipients' names of European aid. The European officials said that it was the first time that Brussels faced this Turkish refusal to provide the required information under the pretext of data protection, and asked the Audit Bureau of Brussels Commission to put pressure on Ankara to disclose the required data. In a report published on Tuesday in Brussels, the European auditors (the Court of Audit) confirmed that the European Funds granted to Syrian refugees in Turkey within the framework of the agreement in March, 2016 did not achieve the desired goals."
