Witnesses on Amuda Cinema Massacre: Massacre was planned

The residents of Amuda district and its countryside commemorated the 59th anniversary of Amuda Cinema Massacre, noting that the massacre was planned, noting that killing of the girl Sara was a continuation of the massacres against the children.

Dozens of residents of Amuda district and its countryside gathered today in the place of the burnt cinema and organized a ceremony to commemorate the 59th anniversary of the massacre of children in the region.

The ceremony was attended by intellectuals, poets, families of martyrs of the massacre, and a gathering of the people of the city and civil institutions in the district.

The ceremony began with holding a minute of silence. Then the co-chair of the Martyrs Families Council in Amuda Hamid Saied delivered a speech which began by offering condolences to the families of the martyrs of the massacre and said "The Kurdish people have suffered a lot throughout history. Among the tragedies they experienced was Amuda Cinema Massacre, which was planned dirtily, and resulted in the martyrdom of 280 flowers, and unfortunately the schemes of the authoritarian state is continuing on our Kurdish people, but our resistance and struggle will thwart all these schemes. "

"The aim of the massacre was to hit the Kurdish people"

For his part, the co-chair of the Culture and Art Body in al-Jazeera region, Elias Saied, condemned the massacre, saying "Amuda is known for its resistance and struggle, in 1960, Amuda city, the source of intellectuals and writers was targeted. The aim of this massacre is to exterminate the Kurdish people and the Kurdish people today is ready to stand in the face of occupation plans aimed at the Kurdish people."

The member of the Executive Body for al-Jazeera region Intellectuals Kurdyar Dari said, "All international forces must do their duty, and the perpetrators of this massacre must be held accountable."

"Killing of the girl Sarah is a continuation of the massacres"

During the ceremony, a witness of the massacre, Abdel Salam Shahin, said, "This massacre is still in the hearts and minds of the people. The Turkish occupation has killed the six-year-old girl, Sarah Mohammed, and no country has expressed its position on this crime, but with our will and determination we will continue to resist."

It is worth mentioning that the massacre of Amuda Cinema was committed in 1960,and 283 people were martyred, mostly children.
