Women's Administration continues its activity within campaign

As part of the series of events launched by the Women's Administration under the slogan "No to Women's Enslavement", the Women's Administration has organized a seminar in cooperation with the Intellectual Women's Union.

The seminar, which began with holding a minute of silence, was attended by the co-chair of the Legislative Council, Roshin Hami, members of the Civil Institutions, Internal Security Forces and dozens of women in the city.

The symposium focused on several points, the most important of which is the definition of the "Day against Violence against Women" and the story of the sisters "Mira Pal" and the incident of their death which was followed by the announcement of the International Day to Combat Violence against Women which falls on 25 November each year.

The seminar also addressed the types of psychological and physical violence that women have suffered from for thousands of years by both authoritarian regimes and men and their negative effects on women.

In the beginning, the administrator of the Women's Administration Zahra al-Hamada told the audience about the story of the sisters Mira Pal who were subjected to various kinds of torture and ill-treatment and were assassinated under a governmental guidance by the dictator Trujillo, the Dominican governor.

Zahra al-Hamada then reviewed the statistics published by the United Nations about the violence against women in some countries of the world, including India, France, Canada and Turkey.

The administrator of women in al-Tabqa, Solin Khalil in turn talked about the history of humanity which should be known to build a society on the right path commemorating the leading role played by women for thousands of years, especially in the natural community.

She added, "The authoritarian capitalist regimes have enslaved women and men, but women have been enslaved by the regimes and men alike."

Solin focused on the wrong concept of freedom adopted by some people, especially in Western countries as young women after reaching the age of 18 are allowed to do whatever they want under the name of freedom and this is wrong and contrary to true freedom. She mentioned the tragedies suffered by women; repression and psychological and physical violence during the occupation of IS mercenaries of the area.

In this regard, a number of women discussed some of the types of domestic violence that women suffer from at home as well as their suffering outside the home in the markets and streets. Several solutions were presented, including intensifying the seminars and awareness-raising lectures, activating the role of the judiciary, reducing impunity, promoting gender equality and activating and promoting the culture of zero tolerance with violence against women everywhere.
